Hey, I’m Lucy from south London; I’m based in leafy Dulwich at the moment, but teetering on the edge of a move to Oxford to be with a lovely man. Yikes! I’m not sure about leaving my lovely London behind, but no matter where my base is weddings seem to have the ability to take me all over the place. From an orchard on Mersea Island to a boat on the Thames, a gorgeous wine cellar in Greenwich to a stunning farm in peak district. I love travelling all over the place to capture the celebration of two people who’ve chosen to link their lives together in front of all the people they care about.
I hadn’t really thought about being a wedding photographer until I was asked to be a second shooter for a lovely couple down in Tunbridge Wells. I loved every minute of it. It was basically the best kind of people watching, spotting smiles between couples full of love, the tears in the eyes of grandma as she listens to gushing speeches, the laughter as the best man does his best to embarrass the groom. I can’t get enough. I even loved the week of editing afterwards, looking at all the gorgeous smiles and the sheer amount of joy on my screen, and knowing I’ve been a part of capturing those moments that a couple will be able to treasure forever.
I love capturing the sunshine streaming through the window as you get yourselves ready, to the sun setting behind your beautiful day. Looking out for the little details you’ve planned and the beautiful moments you haven’t. I try to be as unobtrusive as possible believing that the images full of the most life and happiness are the ones undirected, just captured.
I will of course take any group photographs you’d like, as I know they’re an important part of getting everyone you know in one place. But I’d recommend making a list of no more than ten, to keep them as relaxed and informal as possible. So you can get back to having a good time with all your favourite people.
It would be lovely to meet with you both before the day. To chat about your wedding plans, get to know you guys a bit and to ensure I capture your day exactly as you’d wish. Also ensuring I’m somebody you’d like to follow you around all day… Although one couple described me as a “long lens ninja” as they almost forgot I was there. So I promise you won’t get sick of me shadowing you.
Please feel free to contact me for more information, or to organise a chat over coffee… or wine… or beer.
Or alternatively I’ve made a Wedding Brochure of some of the packages I offer, so you can see if I’m what you’re after.
