Hey there, I’m Lucy.
I was born and brought up in South London, but I now live in lovely Oxford with my partner Ben and our little boy Robin.
I’d never really thought about being a wedding photographer until I was asked to be a second shooter for a lovely couple down in Tunbridge Wells. I loved every minute of it. It was basically the best kind of people watching, spotting smiles between couples full of love and the tears in the eyes of grandma as she listens to gushing speeches. The laughter as the best man does his best to embarrass the groom and the kids hiding under the table. I couldn’t get enough. I even loved the week of editing afterwards, looking at all the gorgeous smiles on my screen, and knowing I was a part of capturing those moments for families to treasure forever.
When not photographing weddings I love going to new places, Iceland is insane. And Hong Kong has the most mouth watering food on every corner, mmm I love food.
Food is a big part of my life, I love to cook. Big tables full of tasty dishes and plenty of wine with lovely friends is my favourite way to spend time. I’ve also been known to bake crazy gingerbread creations, including an allotment brownie, gingerbread, marzipan extravaganza for my mums 60th and a Brockwell Lido recreation made from gingerbread, a lemon poppyseed cake and shortbread. We grew up making a gingerbread house every Christmas and the creations have escalated…
I’ve recently discovered I quite like growing things. It’s been so lovely this summer being able to potter around the garden in-between edits and go outside to pick dinner in the evening. Anyone need a courgette because I have too many…
The outdoors, mountains and water and breathing in super clean air makes me happy, but then I also love curling up on the sofa and binge watching all the Netflix dramas, usually with some drawing or crochet creation to keep my hands busy. I’ve been creative all my life loving art and design throughout school and then when I went on to study photography at university, I also made beaded jewellery for a few years, which I sold on Etsy and at Greenwich market.
Another passion of mine unfortunately competes for my Saturdays and that’s supporting Crystal Palace. I’ve been going to Selhurst Park with my mum and brother since I was about 11, my brother and I won some free tickets while playing at ‘football in the community’ in Brixton. We fell in love from the first game and I love to go to games when I can.
Lucy is awesome – she goes above and beyond on the day of the wedding and we really felt at ease with her. (Claire&Jeremy)
We booked Lucy for our intimate 20 person wedding and she fit right in! Everyone talked about how amazing she was and it was truly a pleasure to have her there. (Kelly&Scott)
We love our wedding photos, Lucy’s friendly and easy nature made us feel completely relaxed on our wedding day, perfectly capturing the day along with catching wonderful unposed moments. (Will&Sofie)
Please feel free to contact me for more information, or to organise a chat over a drink. It would be lovely to meet with you both before the day. To get to know you guys a bit and to ensure I capture your day exactly as you’d wish, also to check I’m somebody you’d like to follow you around all day…
I’ve put together a bit about my style and approach for your big day and the sorts of images I seek out. If you’d like to check it out, just click here.
“Lucy’s creative talent & enthusiasm was so obvious when we met her for the first time; we felt completely confident about her photographing our wedding. On the day, our guests commented on how lovely Lucy was as she subtly bounced around capturing so many clever shots. Our day was very colourful and the way she captured this was beyond my expectations…just perfect. She worked her socks off for us, and we couldn’t be more grateful.” VIEW GALLERY
