This was one of the first times I got the bug for photographing weddings. Tim is my cousin so I wasn’t technically the photographer on the day. I was what what I now know to be an ‘Uncle Bob’… Every wedding has one. The annoying guests who turns up with a fancy camera and a bag full of lenses and gets in the way of the photographer. However, I knew I was going to be annoying so I tried to be respectful and not get in her way. I was a pretend Penshurst Place wedding photographer for the day.
It was fun not being the main photographer though. I was able to get some really natural moments without having to do anything staged or posed. Just people watching and enjoying capturing smiles and laughter.
Tim and Becca got married in a lovely church near Tunbridge Wells and their reception was at the amazing Penshurst Place and gardens. Penhurst Place had amazing grounds for people to wander around, courtyards to drink and eat canapés and a medieval banquet room where everyone enjoyed a wedding breakfast. They served a hog roast with some of the best crackling I’ve ever tasted.
The couple were gifted with a beautiful sunny day. I took one of my favourite pictures ever from a spot hiding beside a bush while the couple were practicing their first dance.

“Lucy’s creative talent & enthusiasm was so obvious when we met her for the first time; we felt completely confident about her photographing our wedding. On the day, our guests commented on how lovely Lucy was as she subtly bounced around capturing so many clever shots. Our day was very colourful and the way she captured this was beyond my expectations…just perfect. She worked her socks off for us, and we couldn’t be more grateful.” VIEW GALLERY
