The day before Bryony and Robs Cherwell Boathouse Wedding the sun didn’t stop shining… However on the day itself, a day in early June, the rain decided to make an appearance. This just meant that on the rare moments when it did decide to stop, we all took advantage. Below are some of the shot I got when everyone poured out of the venue and the couple jumped in a punt. I wasn’t the official photographer on this occasion as the lovely Bryony is a good friend of mine, and I was standing beside her as one of her bridesmaids.
I had one of the loveliest days. We started at hers quite early, with six bridesmaids to get ready as well as the bride and her mum. Then we braved the rain to jump in the taxi to The Bodleian Library in the centre of Oxford. The room they use for ceremonies is stunning, it was recently used in the film ‘The Favourite’ for the parliament. The light pours in from high windows giving everyone a really cool halo.
After the lovely I do’s and a few tears we headed in a London bus to the Cherwell Boathouse. It’s situated in such a lovely spot, right on the river Cherwell. With a lovely airy open room for the wedding breakfast, and a cozy room downstairs for the party. It was perfect, despite the rain.

“Lucy’s creative talent & enthusiasm was so obvious when we met her for the first time; we felt completely confident about her photographing our wedding. On the day, our guests commented on how lovely Lucy was as she subtly bounced around capturing so many clever shots. Our day was very colourful and the way she captured this was beyond my expectations…just perfect. She worked her socks off for us, and we couldn’t be more grateful.” VIEW GALLERY
