abingdon Abbey buildings // 13 Aug 2022

Claire and James were married in the lovely Abbey buildings in Abingdon and I had the joy of being their wedding photographer. It was one of the hottest days of the summer and I was 6 months pregnant, so I remember it being quite hard work, but two of the bridesmaids were also pregnant so I wasn’t alone. The couple have a beautiful little girl, who was centre of their big day and got to be a part of seeing her parents tie the knot.

The Abbey buildings in Abingdon include a gorgeous little theatre, where the couple were able to get hitched on stage in front of all their loved ones. They were bathed in gorgeous stage lighting which made for some really lovely photographs. They then exited into beautiful day of sunshine in the grounds of the abbey, which looked more like the grounds of a Chateau in France. with a mill stream running through the garden and lovely arches and windows, which make lovely backdrops for photographs.

They had a delicious meal up in the long gallery followed by donuts and ice cream, drinks and dancing downstairs. The mixture of different spaces all work for different parts of the day and mean all the guests don’t have to keep vacating spaces while their turned around.
