Jac and Dan got married at St Clement Danes followed by a Queen Mary University wedding reception. I met this couple at their ceremony venue before their big day. Daniel is a proud member of the Royal Air Force so was very excited to be able to marry his beautiful partner in St Clement Danes on the strand. I’ve been past this lovely church hundreds of times, growing up in London, but never been in. I always think of churches as quite dark places but when I stepped into the light of St Clement Danes I was taken aback by how gorgeous and light it was inside.
Daniel was telling me all about it’s history and importance and pointing out the floor tiles, which are embedded with thousands of unique squadron and unit badges. Jacquline is Chinese, so the wedding day started with a Chinese tea ceremony. I was very excited to be able to witness this for the first time. The couple knelt on pillows and different family members took it in turns to sit in front of them and present them with tea and gifts and little red envelopes. It went in a hierarchical order from grandma down to cousins. It was lovely to witness all the tears and smiles.
The sun shone all day long and bathed St Clement Danes is gorgeous sunshine. Jac and Dan said their I do’s and then exited through an arch of swords… I was glad there weren’t too many or I might have had to walk backwards through them…
After a quick trip on a London double decker we arrived at their Reception venue, Queen Mary University London. It’s a stunning setting for a wedding breakfast, a big circular room with shafts of light streaming in through the high windows. And surrounded by two balconies of books. It’s Gorgeous, and we got to have a little wander and scale the spiral staircases to get a few shots in before their guests descended.

“Lucy’s creative talent & enthusiasm was so obvious when we met her for the first time; we felt completely confident about her photographing our wedding. On the day, our guests commented on how lovely Lucy was as she subtly bounced around capturing so many clever shots. Our day was very colourful and the way she captured this was beyond my expectations…just perfect. She worked her socks off for us, and we couldn’t be more grateful.” VIEW GALLERY
