I shot this wedding as a second shooter for a mate of mine at the amazing Ardington House. I love second shooting because it takes all the pressure off getting the big moments and allows you to concentrate on the more overlooked but, I’d argue, more sincere and meaningful moments. I hung out with the boys in the morning and met up with the rest of the bridal party at Holy Trinity church, which sits just a couple of minutes walk from Ardington House, near Wantage.
Ardington House is a stunning setting for a wedding reception. It has lovely sloping grounds down to a beautiful brook, amazing steps for speeches and music, and the marquee for the meal is tucked away so it doesn’t overwhelm the scenery. They were blessed with beautiful weather which allowed them to hang out outside for most of the day, listing to the band over canapés and all the speeches were top notch. I even bumped into a couple who realised they’d booked me for a wedding later in the summer so I got to pre-emptively meet the lovely Immy and Danny.
