Lucy Judson
Hey, I’m Lucy, a documentary wedding photographer, based in Oxford. I live with my lovely partner Ben, and our gorgeous little boy Robin.
I’ve spent my whole life taking pictures. I grew up with the invention of the digital camera, and before everyone had cameras on their phones. I studied photography at school and uni and went completely back to basics, learning all about pinhole photography and spending weeks in the dark room. I’ve photographed all sorts over the years, from objects to places to people. And I’ve come to the conclusion that people, their relationships, expressions and reactions are where the magic is. The hugs, the laughter, the tears and the dance moves. Weddings have it all!
Weddings are an incredible day for people watching. And I get to bottle the whole spectrum of human emotions into a beautiful collection of images — photographs that you can feel.

Oh, and I grew up in south London watching Crystal Palace F.C. attempt to play football, hence the image of Selhurst Park drawn by my brother Peter Judson. Weddings have monopolised my Saturdays in recent years, but I still enjoy the occasional Saturday on the terraces. Peter also designed my logo and branding, which you can see all over my website.
