Taunton Wedding Photographer

Sophie and Robin got married down in Taunton at the lovely little All Saints Parish Church in Trull, with their reception in a marquee in some friends of theirs back garden. It wasn’t just any old back garden though and it wasn’t any old marquee. It was an amazing spot with a pig enclosure and a chill out tent, a fire pit and hanging lanterns. The marquee was decorated with amazing lines of bulbs to light it with a warm glow and bunting hung all around it in beautiful autumnal colours.

I met up with the bridesmaids in the morning after going round in circles a bit to find the house where they were getting ready. Sophie herself wasn’t quite back from getting her hair done so I got to explore the amazing house they’d picked to stay in. It was like being in the Weasley house in Harry Potter, walls at odd angles and painted random colours and filled with weird and wonderful things. There was a carved rabbit head in the garden that looked like something out of Alice in wonderland and all sorts of collections of pots and bobbins and an umbrella turned into a beautiful dress up in the rafters. I also captured the bridesmaids lacing each other into their dresses which seemed to take two bridesmaids to each bridesmaid dress to get the lacing right, at one point there was a chain of lacing and hair curling going on.

Sophie managed to get into a small car accident on the way back to the house; they had to abandon a car and one of the bridesmaids rushed out to go pick them up. I then became one of the vehicles to transport people to the wedding. I love being there in the morning and getting involved in the mayhem and chaos, although this wedding was unusually chaotic… it’s usually pretty chilled out.

The wedding was great fun throughout. During the ceremony Robin tried to go in for the kiss a little too early and the vicar gave him a telling off and a finger pointed in the face, I’m so glad I managed to capture the moment it was hilarious. After the group photographs were done the couple and their bridal party played Frisbee and the groomsmen raced with bridesmaids on their backs. Later on at the reception there was a big tug of war between the families and then girls verses boys and then they tried bridesmaids verses groomsmen. Robins two brother gave the best man speech and it had everyone in tears of laughter and even ended with a song. Sophie and Robin are a really lovely couple and their day definitely represented the fun they bring out in each other. I stayed into the evening capturing all the amazing music right up until they left through a tunnel of their friends.
