Twenty Twenty-Two // Best Of Lucy Judson Photography

This was a funny old year for me. Me and my partner had started trying to get pregnant at the beginning of the year, and I’d calculated that if it worked straight away I’d still just about make it to all the weddings in the diary… And thankfully that was the case, because it did happen pretty quick and I did make it to all the weddings. Albeit with a little help from the lovely Ollie Hinds at my last two in the autumn and some driving help from my other half. It means that I not only remember all these beautiful weddings for their lovely people, gorgeous venues, super fun guests, but I remember just how big I got and how much my back hurt. I had all the straps holding my bump in place.

I got a second shooter for the last two weddings mainly so that the guests would stop telling me to sit down and the couples would stop leaving to get me glasses of water! Everyone was so lovely and I also had the funny situation of shooting three weddings for the same friendship group, so they really did see me growing throughout the year.

The weddings were ace and I’m so glad I made it to them all! I feel like I was all over the place, from a windy cliff on the south coast at Polhawn Fort in Cornwall to The Old Coal Yard brewery in Newcastle. A field overlooked by the black mountains in Wales to the middle of Harewood forest in Hampshire that required a what3words to find, the words were “intrigued.nozzles.depths”.

Below is a slideshow if you want to see the images at High speed…

Of if you want to go through the images a little slower, I’ve added them below too :) I’d love to know what you think!

“In a world of colourless and overly-posed wedding portraits, she is a blast of vibrant colour, warmth and humanity. Looking at our photos now she seems to have innately understood where to be at any moment to capture the joy we felt, the moments we most want to remember and the characters who made the whole thing special. Her pictures have a wonderful combination of dynamism and craft— like having all the immediacy and personality of candid photos taken by a good friend at the same time as displaying the eye of a true artist!” -Immy+Daniel

“Her style is vibrant and fun”
