The Perch // Relaxed Riverside Oxford Wedding Venue
The Perch is a charming and romantic choice for your Oxford wedding venue. It is a quintessentially English pub offering a relaxed and memorable spot for your Oxford wedding. With a pub garden that was one of the reasons I wanted to move to Oxford, It’s one of my dream venues. The Perch offers outdoor ceremonies with dappled soft light from weeping willows and the gentle sound of the River Thames. Located on the outskirts of Oxford, the venue offers countryside charm conveniently close to one of England’s most iconic cities. The pub itself is a perfect mix of old-world charm and contemporary touches with warm wooden beams and a cozy fire. There’s a marquee with vintage touches that add a bit of character to an otherwise blank canvas for the couple to make their own. With wooden tables and fine china it’s the perfect venue to fill with wildflowers and candles for a relaxed, elegant and memorable atmosphere.
The perch is a wedding venue that offers its own catering so you don’t have to worry about organising the food. I’ve eaten at the pub several times and it’s always been delicious. They focus on high-quality seasonal ingredients and locally-sourced produce. With hearty roasts or fresh salads your wedding guests won’t be disappointed. Many couples have their ceremonies in Oxford itself at one of the many other gorgeous venues. But then have the option of a boat trip upstream along the Thames. Transporting them from the hustle and bustle of Oxford city centre to the peaceful, idyllic and elegant spot of The Perch. It’s perfect for couples who love a bit of history, a slice of nature, and timeless romance.
The Ashmolean Museum // Magnificent Stylish Oxford Wedding Venue
The Ashmolean museum is an unforgettable Oxford wedding venue for couples who value art, beauty and the allure of the past. The venue grants you access to explore and soak up one of the oldest museums in the world and is undeniably cool. The Ashmolean is made up of multiple different spaces that give you so much choice of style and atmosphere for your wedding ceremony. From grand galleries full of renaissance painting to a modern light filled rooftop restaurant, you can make your wedding your own. Located in central Oxford it houses an incredible collection of art and archeology creating an atmosphere of romance and tradition. With one couple we explored the basement storage room of towering statues and rare treasure. It was an incredibly unique opportunity to be given access and it was so much fun.
The venue is effortlessly elegant and sophisticated with marble-floored halls and grand sweeping staircases. As an Oxford Wedding venue it wants for nothing in terms of added decor, but elegant floral arrangements of orchids or peonies may add a touch of luxury. The Ashmolean partners with a couple of different caterers including Oxford Fine Dining, so your wedding breakfast will be refined with modern classic touches. The evening celebrations take place in the basement, with low vaulted ceilings to add a touch of intimacy to your dance-floor. And you can even organise a private tour of the galleries to add an element of discovery and awe to your celebrations.

The Oxford Botanic Garden provides an elegant yet relaxed vibe for your wedding venue. Set in the heart of Oxford, near the prestigious University, it’s one of the oldest botanic gardens in the UK. The spires of Oxford University peak over the walls, blending natural beauty with a backdrop of historic architecture. Your wedding would feel like a peaceful haven, a pocket of botanic wonder, away from the hustle and bustle of the city going about its business. The garden offers a romantic and picturesque setting for any wedding. With a glorious mixture of manicured lawns, colourful flower beds and iconic greenhouses. You could say your ‘I do’s’ in front of a sea of daffodils or under the magnificent oak tree. The number of charming spots this Oxford wedding venue offers for you and your guests to explore is endless.
Your reception will take place in the bottom right hand corner, where a marquee adorned with fairy lights will take over one of the lawns. Surrounded by flower beds you will pass your day with the scent of fresh flowers and herbs filling the air. And as the public are kicked out at 5pm you will have the whole place to yourselves. You will be able to take in all the peaceful surroundings of this timeless historic spot as the sun sets on your wedding day.
