Islington Town Hall Wedding Photographer

Chris & Jeannine are from Ireland and America respectively. They knew they wanted to get married over in Florida, where Jeannine is from, but they weren’t going to be able to afford that for a few years so they decided to get the formalities out of the way first and tie the knot. They just got a few of Chris’s family over from Ireland and went down to Islington Town Hall to say their vows and I was lucky enough to be their wedding photographer. There were only about seven of them in total, but it was one of the loveliest days I’ve had the pleasure to be a part of. Chris read out a letter from Jeannine’s mum, which brought tears to everyone’s eyes especially Jeannine who clearly would have loved her mum to have been there. They were happy tears though as her words definitely brought her into the day in a lovely way.

The vows took place in the Judges’ Chamber in Islington Town Hall. It’s a lovely room with wooden walls and lovely tall windows and a big table for them to sign the register on. I got some lovely photographs of them looking rather smug afterwards in two big leather chairs looking like royalty on their thrones, and then looking slightly less like royalty when Jeannine put her feet up onto Chris’s knee. They were great fun to photograph and had some lovely ideas for images they wanted. When we got outside they all had great fun blowing bubbles at each other and taking some more pictures while they waited for the taxi.

Even though I was only with them for about 2 hours in total we got some great photographs for them to remember their day with. I was also blown away by the lovely testimonial Chris sent me after they got their pictures.
