Mark+Helen // Richmond Wedding
Richmond Wedding Photographer
You couldn’t say Mark and Helen didn’t squeeze in as many venues and modes of transport as they could into their incredible day! A church, a hotel, The White Horse pub, a park, a river, a boat, several cars and a bus! It was the total Richmond wedding photography experience and it was brilliant!
They started off separately in a hotel and their little flat near Richmond station, the got married in a lovely church in called St Elizabeth Of Portugal with balloons and flowers and streamers and confetti. They then got all their guests to wander down to the river and surprised them with a boat trip along the Thames, I’ve lived in London all my life and realised it was the first time I’d been in a boat on the Thames as well so it great fun to be able to join in the fun. The boat dropped everyone at Hampton court bridge where there was a green double decker bus waiting to take everyone back to the lovely White Horse pub. Helen and Mark and myself popped in a taxi to Richmond Park to take some pictures of the two of them before heading to the pub to join in the festivities. We even managed to find one of the Richmond park deer to get a photograph with.
When I met the couple I’d found out that Helen was a designer for Cath Kidston and she filled me in on loads of her ideas for how she was going to design the wedding. Since photographing the wedding she put together I think she could definitely make a career out of designing weddings as well. From the invite to the bouquet, the confetti to the streamers, everything matched and combined to make an beautifully colourful day, which made up for the disappointingly grey weather we had at the beginning of September.
Mark and Helen’s day was full of fun touches, with a magician to amuse the guests on the boat and a table plan put together with embarrassing photographs of each of the guests. Their day managed to be elegant and classy but not take itself too seriously, it was one of my favourites of the year.
KIND WORDS
Mark+Helen
“Lucy’s creative talent & enthusiasm was so obvious when we met her for the first time; we felt completely confident about her photographing our wedding. On the day, our guests commented on how lovely Lucy was as she subtly bounced around capturing so many clever shots. Our day was very colourful and the way she captured this was beyond my expectations…just perfect. She worked her socks off for us, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
