Alice+Matt’s Ceilidh // Wolvercote Village Hall

Alice and Matt got married in the States and I had the pleasure of flying to Florida to be their photographer. They had a lovely relaxed little Floridan wedding to go with American Matts pretty chilled out American personality, but on returning to Britain they needed to readdress the balance and have a bit of a shindig for Scottish Alice and her family and friends over here in Wolvercote village hall in north Oxford. The only thing to do was to have a ceilidh, eat a lot of food, drink a lot of beer and then spin around A LOT… A recipe for disaster! But on the photography front a brilliant opportunity to capture some top speed flailing, limbs all over the place and people getting lost and tangled up doing steps they’d learnt just a minute ago and immediately forgotten.

I’ve been to a fair few ceilidhs in my time and photographed a few at some weddings I’ve captured but this one was pretty up there as one of the fastest. Here are some of the images I captured in between joining in for a few dances too.
