Having only recently moved to the Oxford area I’m in the process of getting to know some of the lovely wedding venues nearby. I had a lovely day being a Hyde House Wedding Photographer for the first time. The couple both had lovely rooms to spend the morning with their wedding party. Will having a few pints with the boys and Isobel having some bubbles with the girls. Although I’m sure they’d have been happy swapping drinks… There was lots of natural light and cool mirrors for sneaky photos. I always try and capture my couples unawares, although that’s not always easy in little rooms in the morning. But I’ve found that by the end of the day hardly anyone clocks me milling about capturing all the loveliness.
The ceremony took place in separate barn with lovely wooden beams, white soft-box walls and windows in the sky as well as the sides. The winter light poured in and gave lots of the guests nice halos and gave a nice glow to the proceedings.
There were lots of tears and laughs, hugs and kisses and before long it was time for everyone to get on and party! The wind was a bit ridiculous and what was supposed to be a quick confetti shot turned into a receiving line with all the guests stuck in the cold wind. I very cruelly photographed their discomfort from inside the warm. Before chivvying the couple along to put their lovely people out of their misery. The wind worked wonders with the confetti and made for some hilarious pictures!
Everyone was fed and watered and then treated to a good dance in the evening. Good times were had by all. I’d also like to thank Hyde House for looking after me so well. They kept me in the loop throughout the day and brought me delicious food too. I’m very much looking forward to a booking I have there next year!

“Lucy’s creative talent & enthusiasm was so obvious when we met her for the first time; we felt completely confident about her photographing our wedding. On the day, our guests commented on how lovely Lucy was as she subtly bounced around capturing so many clever shots. Our day was very colourful and the way she captured this was beyond my expectations…just perfect. She worked her socks off for us, and we couldn’t be more grateful.” VIEW GALLERY
