Jack+Hannah // St John’s College Cambridge Wedding
St John’s College Cambridge Wedding Photographer
Jack and Hannah got married at a lovely little church in the middle of Cambridge and then on to a reception at St John’s College Cambridge where Hannah is a Fellow.
I was welcomed into the day straight away, I’d arrived a bit before Hannah got back from the hairdresser and Hannah’s brother and his girlfriend roped me into a game of UNO that I hadn’t played for years. I love being involved in the morning preparation as I get to have little chats with friends and family and photograph in quite a relaxed environment before the hundreds of friends and family are added into the equation. This was a particularly nice introduction.
After leaving them to get to the church I had a rather tense half-an-hour attempting to find the car park Jack had directed me to. Going round and round the block several times before finding it. I later found out the gate hadn’t been opened in time so I wasn’t just being blind! Being late for a wedding is quite a terrifying thought for me, I can never really relax until there isn’t anywhere else for me to drive to and be on time.
The rest of their wedding was lovely, as Hannah is a Fellow of the college we got the chance to go into lots of the areas around the college that you aren’t always usually allowed, and to get photographs of the pair of them in loads of stunning settings. One of my favourites is them standing on the grass in front of the “please keep off the grass” sign.
As we’d met before for an engagement shoot in Oxford they were both quite relaxed in front of the camera and we got to wander around for quite a while finding new lovely spots. They then put on a spread of afternoon tea for all their lovely guests in one of the grand halls, I felt a bit like I was documenting a banquet in Harry Potter. The day ended with drinks on the lawn and lots of bubbles, both drinkable and the ones you blow. Here are some of the photographs I got of their big day.
